  1. The orchestra for the Oscar telecast wasn’t in the Dolby Theater where the awards show took place. Instead, they were a mile away at the Capitol Records building. That way, nobody could check to see if they were lip-synching.

  2. Daniel Day-Lewis won best actor for “Lincoln.” Things were a little different back when Lincoln was president, because then Democrats were called Republicans, and Republicans were called “Master.”
